The Cryptosteel Cassette is a product that started the trend of steel wallets designed for storing Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The cassette is similar in size to a credit card and is designed to store alphanumeric characters of the user’s choice. No additional tools or equipment are needed for assembly. Each package contains 280 stainless steel tiles with engraved characters. Codes and passwords can consist of a sequence of 96 characters. The cassette is highly resistant to physical damage, fire, water, and corrosion. A recovery seed phrase, or “seed,” based on the BIP39 standard and consisting of 12 or 24 words, serves as a backup in case of loss or destruction of a software or hardware wallet. The Cassette can store 96 characters, which is enough to store a list of 24 words. Please note: The Trezor Model T hardware wallet also appears in the product images. It is used solely to illustrate the size of the Cassette and is not included in the package!

How do I enter data into the cassette?

. Use one of the included tiles with the symbol and turn the screw counterclockwise by 90°.
Use one of the included marked plates or a similar tool and press on the lever
Keep the lever pressed down while opening
. Insert the tiles with the characters. If you are entering a BIP39 seed, use only the first four letters of each word. If a word has only three letters, insert a blank tile for the 4th character.
Close the cassette frame and turn the screw back to its original position.
